Casey Family Programs is the nation's largest operating foundation focused on safely reducing the need for foster care and building Communities of Hope for children and families across America. Nearly half a million children are currently in foster care. After years of decline in numbers of children in foster care, the number has risen steadily since 2012, with anecdotal evidence and expert opinion linking this increase to the parallel rise in opioid addiction and overdoses.

By elevating the voice of constituents, the Family Voices United Campaign seeks to:

  • ensure key child welfare stakeholders understand the experiences and needs of families at risk or involved with child welfare

  • identify supports families need to remain safely together and prevent maltreatment and unnecessary foster care entry

  • identify policy barriers preventing families at risk of child welfare involvement from getting the services they need.
