Monique Gonzalez’s love for her six children—two sons and four daughters—is unlike anything she’s ever known. Though motherhood has tested her in countless ways, it has also transformed her. After becoming involved with CPS, Monique enrolled in the HOPES program, where she discovered new tools for parenting, communication, and connection. What began as a challenge became her turning point.
Monique is currently a respected parent leader, former chair of the DFPS Parent Collaboration Group, and an active voice on the HOPES Parent Advisory Committee in her county. She presents regularly to judges and court staff, sharing her lived experience to shape a more compassionate system. Through Parent Teacher Organizations and advisory councils, she stays deeply engaged in her children’s education and community.
