Pasqueal also volunteered with the Extra Mile, a non-profit family support organization, as she formerly served as Parent Partner Mentor for the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services through The Extra Mile.

In addition to her local community involvement, she is also a member of two national networks—the Birth Parent National Network (BPNN) and the Birth and Foster Parent Partnership. In September of 2021, she became a Family Consultant for the Capacity Building Center for States. She also sits on the Louisiana Governor’s Advisory Council for Disability Affairs. Additionally, she engages with the Casey Family Programs on poverty policy work and is assigned to a Community of Hope project in the state of Alabama.
In 2023, Pasqueal launched the non-profit organization, Bayou Lotus, which provides protective factors training, hope (healthy outcomes positive experience), family peer support and many other opportunities. She also created the Parent Impact Coalition under Bayou Lotus to expand on the parent movement and equip parents with their rights and responsibilities when experiencing or engaging with CPS.
Pasqueal presented at the 2018 Together We Can Conference in Lafayette, Louisiana, and served as an expert panelist at the Quality Parenting Initiative (QPI) National Conference in Philadelphia in 2019. In 2020, she presented a workshop at the QPI Virtual National Conference. And she is also an Advisor for Youth Law Center, training future states in the Quality Parenting Initiative.

She is also a Certified Peer Support Specialist for the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, and a Trainer of Trainers in the 5 Protective Factors through the Alliance Children’s Trust Fund. She started a local nonprofit where she plans on training others in her state with the 5 Protective Factors and the general public. Pasqueal has also shared her lived experiences with the company BINTI, which builds software to assist in many areas of child welfare. She is passionate about helping other families in accessing needed services.
And she was newly appointed with the LaDDC (www.laddc.org) in Louisiana for a 5-year term starting January 2024.

www.MomsRising.org and going through an intense “MOM POWER BOOTCAMP” that emphasizes federal policy and best practices in lobbying, relationship building, child care, paid family leave, Moms Voting, and more.
Joining the Lived Experience Advisory Board with FosterClub has been an extremely important part of the process we are all on collectively. She always looks forward to serving society at large.
And the best part of her story is the fact that she has impacted experience in many areas and oppressive systems, so she comes with the lens of that—which we don’t necessarily get taught in school.
